A new event is set to transform a "hidden treasure" of the Launceston CBD into a vibrant space to enjoy the final days of winter.
Beats, Brews & BBQs will take over Smiths Lane, off St John Street, with food stalls, bars and music throughout Saturday afternoon.
Expect firepits, steaming beverages, open flame barbecues and charcoal grills. Everything from smoked and cured meats and flame-grilled corn to slow-cooked brisket, vegetarian dishes and craft alcohol will be served up in the intimate space.

Businesses including The Metz, Bakers Lane and Saint John Craft Beer have joined forces for the event, which comes as part of a push by Cityprom to help businesses activate their own distinct areas of the city.
"[It's about] providing consumers with incentives to visit and appreciate the city during winter," said Cityprom executive officer Steve Henty. "We want to encourage them to dress warm, come out and enjoy Launceston over the cooler months."
