When Tasmania was missed from Kasey Chambers' 2018 tour, the state was top of the list when she put her old band together for 20th anniversary of The Captain.

Chambers and the original band will perform songs from her debut album, and a selection of other favourites from the past two decades during the Tasmanian leg of the tour in October.
"When this tour went on sale one of my first priorities was Tasmania," Chambers said.
"I do tour quite a bit and come to Tasmania most years. We get a lot of support down there; Tasmanians are great at supporting people who go out of their way to come," she said.
IN OTHER NEWS:
The prospect of sharing such a momentous anniversary with her Tasmanian fans was made even more special with the reformation of her band for this tour.
"We got the original band back together that we had when we recorded The Captain on Norfolk Island," Chambers said.
"It was a four piece but we added an extra member.
"It's fun for me to get back together [with the band], and one is my dad. It feels like a walk down memory lane a bit for me."
The majority of songs performed at Chambers' concert will be from The Captain, but "every now and then I'll put a new one in".
An added bonus is the tale behind the songs, which Chambers enjoys sharing with her audience.
"There are always a few surprises and a lot of stories, as well, about how the songs came about," she said.
"I want people to feel like they know me a bit better, so I share how we recorded it and what inspired me."
The Captain anniversary concerts start at the Gympie Muster this weekend and finish in December, with three Tasmanian dates falling in the middle of the tour.
"I'm looking forward to coming down [to Tasmania]," Chambers said.
"It's definitely an extra special tour for me."
