The 20-year-old Pawtella man who died was a passenger in the vehicle.
Tasmanian Police said the crash happened around 4.30am on Sunday, August 18.
The 20-year-old male driver, from Richmond, was travelling east towards Tooms Lake and lost control of the white 2008 Ford Ranger utility while attempting to negotiate a right-hand curve, a Tasmania Police spokesperson said.
"As the driver lost control the vehicle rotated and rolled and, as a result, the male front-seat passenger was thrown from the vehicle," the spokesperson said.
"Initial investigations indicate that the use of alcohol and the failure to wear a properly fitted and adjusted seat belt are likely contributing factors in the males death."
