The Quamby Fly Fishers club is hosting its annual open day.
On September 21, all those keen to learn the ins-and-outs of the sport are encouraged to drop in.
The event will be held at the Meander Community Hall.
"Children and adults come along, enjoy the day and learn about fly fishing," organisers said.
There will be information about casting tuition, fly tying, entomology, cleaning, knots, gear selection and about the club.
Entry is a cold coin donation. Lunch is available by donation. The event starts at 10am and finishes at 3pm.
For more information, contact Eve on 0427 695 121, or Mark on 0409 647 966.
Tasmania will host the World Fly Fishing Championship later this year.
It's the third time the state has hosted the event, and the first time in about 30 years.
The event will be held from November 30 until December 8
