For months, students have been getting ready to put on one of the first amatuer productions of Roald Dahl's Matilda: the Musical in the country.
Director Cheyne Mitchell said inspiration came from a trip the school had taken to Sydney about four years ago.
The students and teachers attending the trip went to see the production of Matilda, but they didn't realise they had actually booked tickets for opening night.
Mitchell said they had an incredible time, even getting the chance to meet the show's writers Tim Minchin and Dennis Kelly.
Mitchell said it was an amazing challenge recreating the magic within their iteration of the show.
"I think people will be suitably impressed," he said.
About 120 students are involved in the production.
Choreographer Tanya Lanham said it was a big undertaking with so many people involved.
"It's been really good because it's quite a well known show, but it's never been done with this many students," she said.
"It's never been done outside of a professional production in Australia.
IN OTHER NEWS
"We kind of got to create our own version of Matilda. There's lots of references to the broadway show, but we've had the opportunity to create a whole new feel to lots of the scenes and we have a lot of kids on stage so we have a lot of fun things to do with them."
Lanham said the students had been loving it.
"The whole show, because it's written by Tim Minchin and Dennis Kelley, it's very clever, funny, but also has these really heartfelt moments," she said.
"It's really complicated; there's just a lot of words. Even I struggled to learn the words to then make up the movement.
"It's been really challenging I think, but really fun, and it is so magical."
