Award-winning chef Karen Martini, well known for her role on Better Homes and Gardens, will host an event at Drysdale's Launceston campus on September 13.

"I'm really looking forward to working with the apprentices and students," Martini said.

"It's a great way of giving back for the help I received with my own career."

Accompanying Martini will be Emma Warren, author of The Catalan Kitchen.

Tourism Northern Tasmania chief executive Chris Griffin said first and foremost, Restaurant Tasmania was about inspiring the next generation of Tasmanian hospitality professionals to make a career in the industry.

"But it doesn't hurt having three leading chefs in town attracting visitors during our cool season and championing the local produce of our island home."

Charlie Carrington of Melbourne's Atlas Dining and Jowlett Yu, executive chef of Hong Kong's Ho Lee Fook, will also host sessions.

Restaurant Tasmania was rebranded from the Great Chefs Series.

The program is run by Tourism Northern Tasmania in partnership with Tourism Tasmania, with Drysdale providing the venue and students.
