Ms Williams' father Eryl Williams started the business, and she joined as a partner 32 years ago, when she was in her 20s.

"I've been coming up here my whole life and remember it since five years of age," Ms Williams said.

"I've watched the place grow around our business and the development as we created and upgraded lifts."

With an exclusive ski lift operating licence for Ben Lomond, Alpine Enterprises is "quite an opportunity" for a new owner to develop year-round tourism, Ms Williams said.

"That someone could take this licence and develop it for summer."

The Parks and Wildlife Service spoke with Ms Williams about plans to develop walking trails and bike tracks on the mountain, which expands its offering from a winter-only venue.

"We have some wonderful walking tracks. This place is screaming out for [further development] on other things to do for the other nine months of the year," Ms Williams said.

One suggestion is additional lift lines, such as a chair lift.

"We have an exclusive licence for lifting, including summer and winter, which we negotiated with Parks and Wildlife Service. There's been lots of talk about chair lifts and gondolas [in other parts of the state], but we already have the licence to start that discussion," she said.

In the time she has been running the business with the help of "fantastic staff", Ms Williams said families visited every year and she watched their children grow.

"We call it a family mountain," she said.

However it was "time to leave it for a new generation now".

"It's been a privilege," Ms Williams said.
