Listed with Melbourne-based Castran Alpine, expressions of interest are being taken for the property until September 30.

The business, which is located within Ben Lomond National Park, just over an hour Launceston, includes seven ski lifts (T-bars and pomas) and associated cables, plant and equipment and the licence to operate the ski lifts at the site.

Listing agent John Castran said the ski business had an exclusive Parks and Wildlife Service licence to run the operation for another five years, together with the potential to develop more buildings, within park guidelines.

"We have advertised the ski licence extensively overseas and on the mainland," Mr Castran said.

"We haven't advertised in Tasmania at all. We thought word of mouth would cover that anyway," he said.

Since the operation was listed last month 27 parties, including some from Tasmania, have contacted Mr Castran, with five "very keen".

Of those five, three are overseas buyers and two are Australian, but neither of those two is Tasmanian.

"We've had a number of inspections and Ben Lomond has knocked their socks off," he said.

"All would like to see Ben Lomond further developed.

"The parties interested are very much into ecotourism. It's quite exciting, the calibre of the people."

This development includes extending operations at the site beyond winter, to attract tourism during spring and summer.

Mr Castran said this was an opportunity to capitalise on the site, with the Williams family ready to "move on" after operating Alpine Enterprises at Ben Lomond for 46 years.

"The time is right for a changing of the guard," he said.
