The pair, from Melbourne, were two of more than 500 dancers that flocked to Launceston this Thursday, Friday and Saturday for the DanceSport Championships at the Silverdome.

The dancers were there to show off their cha-cha-chas and their sambas; their waltzes and their foxtrots; and to compete for the $30,000 purse - the largest in Australia.

Dancers travelled from as far afield as Iceland and China to try their luck - and skill - at the Tasmanian championships this year, with competitors aged from 4 to 84.
