The four-stage Tour de Tweed begins in Tyalgum, NSW, on Friday and runs until Sunday.
The men's field of 86, who will tackle a 127.2km opening stage to Stokers and back, will see four Tasmanians in opposing teams and two competing as individuals.

Launceston's Oliver Martin will represent the Drapac Cannondale Holistic development team with Legana's Zack Gilmore riding for Pro Racing Sunshine Coast ACA, Smithton's Iven Bennett representing Butterfields-Appselec p/b Van D'am Racing and Hobart's Ben Van Dam in the five-rider BridgeLane team.
Launceston's Josh Duffy and Daniel Di Domenico, of Hobart, are both entered as individuals.
The women's field of 70 will be taking on a 97.7km opening stage.
South Australian Breanna Hargrave has joined the St Lukes TIS Racing team which already includes Launceston's Lauren Perry, Exeter's Catelyn Turner and Anya Louw, of Devonport, all fresh from busy schedules in the Northern Hemisphere summer.
Launceston's Kathryn Woolston is in the Veris Racing team.
The newly-minted Tour de Tweed will continue the Battle on the Border legacy by celebrating cycling in the Tweed Valley.
After another road race from the Madura Tea Estate on Saturday, an action-packed Sunday in Murwillumbah will feature a time trial and criterium.
The NRS continues through Victoria for the next few months before concluding with the Tour of Tasmania, in early December.
Utah saints
Hobart training partners Scott Bowden and Nathan Earle will be in competition across the Pacific this week.
Both will race the week-long Tour of Utah which starts on Monday.
After breaking his leg in a Spanish one-day race in April, 31-year-old Earle (Israel Cycling Academy) returned to competition in late July in the four-stage Adriatica Ionica race in Italy.
Bowden, 24, of Team BridgeLane, last raced in France in June.
