Visiting the North-West Coast for the MyState Community Blitz, a region with good memories for Briggs after winning one of their two games last summer at West Park, Briggs unveiled leg-spinner Maisy Gibson, joining the likes of Ashes tourists Nicola Carey and Tayla Vlaeminck, as well as Australia A representative Belinda Vakarewa in "Tasmania's Team".
"We have got a better balance in our bowling attack with a couple more spinners and a bit more pace,'' Briggs said.
"We had a lot of medium pacers which can be a little bit samey at times, so to have a fast bowler that is really beneficial, and that supports our middle order as well.
"We've always looked to recruit high-profile players, so to get so many in one year was really good for us.
"We want to be attracting players who want to play at the highest level, and if you have got players that have aspirations to do that, that brings people on the journey with them.
"There are a lot of girls who are very talented in our squad that don't know how far they can get yet, so it is about building belief and to keep providing the opportunity for them to showcase their skills."
The Hurricanes will have a new Launceston venue this summer for WBBL05 when they host Sydney Sixers at Invermay Park on Wednesday, November 13.
