The left-handed opening batsman took the competition by storm last season, scoring 1237 runs at 65.11 including a stunning 104 off 47 balls in the grand final to hand the Chieftains their first Premier League flag.
Announcing the star's return through Facebook on Wednesday night, secretary Brad Eames said Dabare was priceless to the club.

"We're excited to have Thanuka returning for another couple of seasons, the impact he has had on the club in his one year to date has been profound in terms of our culture and professional standards," Eames said.
The Chieftains have been active in the off-season recruiting Westbury wicket-keeper Campbell Fraser, former Riverside batsman Beau Hills and Trevallyn bowler Kyle Strochnetter to add to their depth.
