Based in West Launceston, Ms Sumner launched The Tea Equation in May and has been building a loyal following of tea lovers during her weekly visits to Harvest Launceston and Evandale Sunday Market.
Ms Sumner and her family moved to Tasmania after traveling the country for two years, but before then she ran a tea shop in Sydney.
"With the cooler weather in Tasmania, and as it was coming into winter, I started thinking about tea again," she said.
IN OTHER NEWS:
Eager to drink tea produced in Tasmania, Ms Sumner came across Tassie-T, which is grown in the Huon Valley, and "loved it".
"I spoke to the producers about using their teas in my blends and started to find herb growers and use natural Tasmanian bush ingredients too."
The Tea Equation has 12 black label blends, containing at least 50 per cent Tasmanian ingredients, that are sold at Harvest Launceston.
There are also white label blends, which contain ingredients Ms Sumner cannot source in Tasmania.
She has also started offering customers the opportunity to create their own tea blend because "it's hard to have a tea that suits everybody", and is running workshops for all ages on the benefits of tea.
