Tasmania are looking at sending two over-50s sides to the national carnival in Western Australia during November, with coordinator for Veteran's Cricket Tasmania Claude Orlando saying it's a great opportunity.

"Some people talk about how good we used to be but we get to meet with people our own age who we may have played cricket with in the past," he said.
"A lot of us are still playing competitively with our clubs so this is an opportunity to compete on a national stage in our own age group."
Those still harbouring international ambitions could find themselves in luck following the championships, as they are used to select sides for the 2020 over-50s world cup in South Africa.
Anyone born in or before 1969 is eligible with those interested encouraged to contact Orlando on 0419 006 085.
