The Tasmanian Heritage Council this week advertised revised entries for Cataract Gorge, Duck Reach and the Launceston Railway Workshops.
Previously not included in the gorge entry, the new boundary proposed would expand to include Zigzag Track and much of the First Basin.
The updated entries come ahead of anticipated development applications for upgrades to the University of Tasmania site at Inveresk and a new $20 million gondola project in the gorge.

Tasmanian Heritage Council chair Brett Torossi said though the sites were entered in the register some time ago, the entries were "excessively concise" and contained limited detail on their values, stories and features.
"Recognising this, the Heritage Council has prepared new, and much more comprehensive, replacement entries that enable the Heritage Council to articulate their uniqueness," Ms Torossi said.
"These new entries reflect our long-term goal of reviewing and replacing existing entries that warrant it, while continuing to add new entries that reflect the diversity of our heritage."
The replacement entry is open for public feedback for 60 days. The proponents of the gondola project were contacted for comment.
City of Launceston council general manager Michael Stretton welcomed the updated entries, saying Cataract Gorge was an "iconic location" within the city whose heritage values and cultural significance the council placed a "great deal" of importance on.
"We have no concerns whatsoever with the provisional revised entry from the Heritage Council," he said. "It's worth noting, that the Cataract Gorge is already listed by the Heritage Council."
Mr Stretton also encouraged the public to take the time to give feedback on the "comprehensive" information contained in the listing during the consultation period.
