The CAA Centre in Brampton, Ontario, represents the latest stop in the extensive cricket career journey of George Bailey.
Since starting out with South Launceston, Bailey has graced the sport's highest stages including Ashes and World Cup triumphs while also leading Tasmania to numerous domestic titles.
Having played the game for a multitude of teams in Australia, England (Hampshire, Middlesex, Sussex) and India (Chennai Super Kings, Kings XI Punjab and Rising Pune Supergiants), the 36-year-old has joined Canada's fledgling GT20 tournament as it embarks on its second year.
The competition has attracted many stars including Chris Lynn, Brendon McCullum, Kane Williamson, Faf du Plessis and Darren Sammy with Shahid Afridi, Chris Gayle and Yuvraj Singh dominating its website home page.
Bailey will captain a Montreal Tigers side featuring fellow Aussies Fawad Ahmed and Sean Abbott plus established internationals Sunil Narine, Thisara Perera and Dinesh Chandimal.
Toronto Nationals and defending champions Vancouver Knights kick the tournament off on Friday before Bailey's Tigers take on the Winnipeg Hawks on Saturday.
