The Launceston Youth Theatre Ensemble is preparing to bewitch audiences with its exuberant production of Arabian Nights.
The centuries-old text adapted by the LYTE tells the story of Shahrazad, the new queen of the murderous King Shahrayar.

Shahrazad is his 1001st bride and her gift of storytelling enables her to weave spellbinding tales every night to entrance the king, staving off her death.
Malachi MacKean, 15, who plays King Shahrayar, said the production had "moments where you feel real tension and really feel for the characters on stage".
