An application to rezone land at Burghley Street, Longford, to make way for a seven-lot subdivision was considered by Northern Midlands Council on Monday.

The proposed 1.763-hectare site, at 86 Burghley Street, is now used for grazing, and the planning application includes six building lots and a balance lot.
Each of the six residential lots will front Bulwer Street.

Woolcott Surveys submitted the application on behalf of owners Bruce and John Pitt.
As well as creating additional residential lots in Longford, the subdivision would provide pedestrian connections between Catherine and Bulwer streets, the application said.
If approved, there is provision for "an additional seven residential lots, and possible future allotments", the application stated.
The rezoning from Rural Resource to General Residential and seven-lot subdivision was recommended for approval, subject to a number of conditions.
