After falling behind 1-0 at half-time from a 44th-minute goal by Matthew Pace, the Strikers were the more dominant team in the second half and had the numerical advantage in the 71st minute when Zebras defender Jan Charuza was sent off.
They made that advantage pay four minutes later thanks to a goal from Daniel Syson.
But as Rick Coghlan's side searched for a winner, they unexpectedly coughed one up at the other end when Adam McKeown found the top corner in the 92nd minute.
The ensuing celebrations from the home side resulted in a melee and Riley Dillon given his marching orders, reducing Zebras to nine men for the final minutes.
All looked lost for Devonport as they searched for a miracle equaliser until a long throw-in from Dominic Smith in the 95th minute found the head of Syson who nodded it home.
The final whistle sounded 90 seconds later, leaving the Strikers level with Olympia on 44 points heading into Saturday's clash at Valley Road, but still with one game in hand and a 10-goal advantage on goal difference.
