Connected is a lightly-raced greyhound winning a heat of the grade six series at his third career start.
The son of Fernando Bale and Keune jumped cleanly from box two and led comfortably through the concluding stages to win by three lengths over Yellow Knife, across 515 metres in 29.98.
"Connected is getting better with experience," Medhurst said. "He prefers a rails draw and shows good early speed which is a great asset for any young dog.
"The entire litter are coming to hand nicely, there is still more to come."
Nitro Sambar for trainer Paul Hili claimed the remaining heat in 30.06 scoring by 4-1/4 lengths.
Connected has drawn box six in the feature though Medhurst is remaining hopeful that the chaser can get a clean run in crossing from out wide.
"Strada possesses early speed and I'm hoping Connected will tack on behind her. I only hope he just gets around safe."
Medhurst will be represented by Chilled Out in the Division 2 J.G Nelson Cup jumping from box two.
The daughter of Above All and Wild Cindy, a winner of six of her 20 starts, has been a handy chaser for Debbie Cannan and Barry Heawood having raced competitively so far including a victory in the Tasmanian Oaks and has since won two of her past six outings.
"Chilled Out is racing solidly in the best form of her 19 start career," Medhurst said. "She is an inside draw specialist and seems to handle Launceston well in her five starts there."
