Breezing through the regular season undefeated, South accounted for the Magpies back in round one in a 2.4 (16) to 0.1 (1) win to kick off their NTFAW campaign.
Their July 6 semi-final clash was a different story as Scottsdale held their fancied opponents scoreless as Pamella Roles, Mikayla Binns and captain Letitia Johnston put the finishing touches on the season's biggest upset.

"I think it was a big boost in getting the win over them. They had a win over us earlier in the season but anything can happen grand final day. It gave us confidence but it will be tough," Johnston said
South Launceston coach Adrian Dean fell short of calling the semi-final loss a 'good' one but said it offered his side a wake up call.
"We knew we were going to play in a semi-final that was going to be really tough and hard. That's what it proved to be and we didn't have our best day," he said.
Saturday's deciding battle between the two will be played at Invermay Park getting underway at 5.30pm
