Trent Baumeler's Tigers pulled off the biggest upset of the season last round, leaving the Northern Bombers two games off top spot heading into the final six rounds.
A bottomed-out Clarence awaits before the Bombers head into the bye.
"We just want consistency in what we do," Whitford said.
"We don't want to put in performances on the weekend and then have to back it up the week after - that's not the rollercoaster we want to ride.
"We want to be a consistent performing side, we've got a month and a bit to become a consistent side and I'm definitely backing the boys in to put a really good performance this weekend."
The Bombers welcomed back four premiership players for 'Back to North Day', with key talls Bart McCulloch and Alex Lee returning alongside Fletcher Bennett and Devil Ben Simpson.
Intercept defender Jay Foon headlines the outs, with pressure forward Jack Rushton likely to return after the bye.
Whitford said the mood around the club had been positive despite the weekend's result.
We've had a really good week," he said.
"Monday was really good reviewing the game, [Wednesday] night was a really good session so hopefully a buoyant captain's run tonight to set ourselves for the weekend and a big couple of months."

Ethan Jackson will return among three changes the Roos, who were grateful for the bye after a tough run of losses.
"I think there was so much pressure that it was good to get away for a week," coach Jeromey Webberley said.
"Training has been fantastic the last two nights - does that mean that we're going to get the result in terms of a win this week? No, but the buoyancy around the club has been really good."
Webberley admitted he wasn't expecting to face the same North that Kingborough met last weekend.
"I watched the tape - I think Taylor hit the nail on the head after the game that they just didn't look hungry," Webberley said.
"It looked like Antarctica down at the Twin Ovals as well, so maybe they just thought they were going to roll down there and get a win, so we expect them to come out breathing fire."
