These current TasNetworks and former Hydro Electric Commission employees may have been exposed to 2,3,7,8 - Tetrachlorodibenzo-p-dioxin (TCDD), a contaminant in the herbicide 2,4,5-T, through their work spraying vegetation under power lines between the 1960s and 1980s.
TasNetworks representatives have spoken directly with 77 people, met with 41 and a further 36 conversations have been booked with toxicologist Dr Roger Drew between now and the end of August, a TasNetworks spokesman confirmed.
Of the 85 enquiries, seven required no further action.

TasNetworks chief executive Lance Balcombe said the organisation would continue to work through this process in the coming months and would determine the next steps once all the medical check-ups had been completed.
"While this process is underway we continue to work with the state government and, in particular, WorkSafe Tasmania. We are working as quickly as we can. However, our objective is to get it right, which will take a few months," Mr Balcombe said.
The TasNetworks board reconfirmed its commitment to this approach and "the need to provide our people with any support they need", he said.
Current or former employees who think they may be affected can visit tasnetworks.com.au or worksafe.tas.gov.au or phone 1300 366 322.
