The night will feature a talk by mountaineering expert John Zeckendorf, who was the first Tasmanian to ever climb to the summit at Mount Everest.
The night will also highlight the struggles facing the Sherpa people of Nepal.
Rotary Australia World Community Service project manager and event organiser Lois Beckwith said that funds raised from the event will go towards the organisation's project in Nepal.
"We're [Rotary] trying to build a vocational training centre for disadvantaged youth," she said.
"What we're trying to do is basically bring youth in from really isolated areas from Nepal and give them a trade or small business opportunity and then they'll go back to their villages."
In other news:
The cost of the project is estimated at about $500,000, with local Rotary groups aiming to raise $10,000 collectively.
Ms Beckwith said having someone like Mr Zeckendorf speak at the event will give the audience a valuable insight into the conditions in Nepal.
"We're very proud that a Tasmanian has ended up as one of the best mountain climbers in the world and John has done every major mountain on every continent and he's done Everest," Ms Beckwith said.
"John will talk about the Sherpas and how they put their lives on the line all the time and work incredibly hard.
"They've got horrendous statistics about life there and a lot of the boys are going overseas to countries like Saudi Arabia and of course all they're doing is getting exploited yet again."
People are also encouraged to bring mild curries to share with one another, with spices available for those who want to add it.
