The agency overseeing the National Disability Insurance Scheme has reassured participants it will provide the necessary funding as they await a new plan if their current plan has expired.

A National Disability Insurance Agency spokeswoman said plans were generally reviewed on a 12-month basis though there was now an option for eligible participants with stable support needs to consider a longer term plan of 24 months.
She said the agency made contact with participants up to 90 days before their plan was due to expire.
"NDIS plan reviews provide participants and their families with an opportunity to ensure funded supports continue to be the most appropriate for the participant's needs, and to address in change in circumstances or goals," the spokeswoman said.
