Devonport's world-recognised umpire manager Minka Woolley is among five Tasmanians officiating at the national junior event as she and Dave Saunders, also from the North-West Coast, are set to lead the procession as leaders of the men's and women's officiating panels.
They will be supported by assistant technical director, Hobart's Greer Wells as Northern sibling duo Jayden and Alissia Pearson put their case forward for selection as an official in the inaugural Hockey One competition.
The duo have tasted experience at the level previously known as the Australian Hockey League but due to the revamped competition, less officiating spots have become available and a focus on professionalism has required them to achieve a benchmark fitness standard.

In the lead-up to the championships, both have been officiating in Hobart's Premier League competition and having previously played at the state level for Tasmania, are now free to explore their umpiring possibilities.
Alongside older sister Courtney, the Pearsons are all part of Hockey Australia's promising squad of referees who have been identified by the governing body as officials with a potential international future in the sport.
Both Tasmanian sides were bundled out of medal contention at the Lismore competition in Sunday's play with the men going down 6-0 to favourites New South Wales and the women suffering the same fate 4-0 against Western Australia.
Following a rest day, the competition resumes on Tuesday with a Queensland date set for the men and a clash with New South Wales Blue for the women.
