The North-West team kept the game close in the opening stages before the Hawks broke away for a 105-35.
Briggs said it was really hard to keep a positive outlook after what was a disappointing performance.
"We had a pretty reasonable first quarter, we were tied halfway through term and then we dropped away really badly," Briggs said.
"They (Northern Hawks) probably lifted their work rate and then their intensity and really forced us into a few mistakes.
"We couldn't stop their drive, when they have a large target in like Ashlea Mawer and they get the ball on the circle, it is very hard to stop with our defence.
This weekend in the Tasmanian Netball League was an Indigenous Round and former Devon player Olivia Snell delivered a Welcome to Country before the game.
