Damaging winds and heavy rain hit the state's North overnight, resulting in power outages and damage to homes throughout the region.

At 9am on Thursday, 20 to 40mm of rain was recorded by the Bureau of Meteorology in the North and West, with 50 to 70 on higher ground in the North-West.
At 10am, wind gusts of 107 km/h were recorded at Low Head.
The State Emergency Service received a request for assistance overnight due to a roof partially blown off a house at Elizabeth Town.
The bureau said a series of fronts would cross the state over coming days, meaning wet and windy conditions around the North and West.
Weather warnings
The Bureau of Meteorology predicted another windy day for Thursday, with west to northwesterly winds to again increase during the day about the North Coast and Bass Strait, and through the west later in the evening.
A marine wind warning is in place until Friday.
For Thursday, a gale warning is in place for the far North-West Coast, central North Coast, Banks Strait and Franklin Sound, east of Flinders Island, the south East Coast, south West Coast, and central West Coast.
A strong wind warning is in place for the upper and lower East Coast.
A small craft alert is in place for the Central Plateau Lakes and South West Lakes.
There is a flood warning in place for the Meander, Mersey, and North Esk Rivers.
A flood watch is in place for the North West, North, North East, Derwent, and Huon catchments.
Weather in Launceston for Thursday is expected to be rainy, windy, and partly cloudy, reaching a total of 13 degrees.
Friday will see showers easing, with more wind and a total of 11 degrees.

Power outages
Just under 2000 TasNetworks customers are without power this morning, many due to the severe weather overnight. Long delays are expected before the issues are resolved.
Towns affected in the North include Beechford, Bellingham, Lefroy, Lulworth, Pipers River, Stony Head, Weymouth, Rushy Lagoon, Myrtle Bank, Targa, Underwood, and Nunamara.
Many are also without power in the state's North-West.
