The Star Theatre will show a special screening of the documentary Apollo 11 on July 17 - the night before its official Australian release. The film has been produced to recognise the 50th anniversary of the moon landing.
The $30 ticket price will also include the screening of the Australian film The Dish and a special talk from the internationally acclaimed astronomer and Launceston Planetarium's Martin George.
All proceeds go to the Winter Relief Appeal.
On July 12, The Examiner will print a special 16-page publication to recognise the moon landing. The feature will include a replica of the front page of The Examiner following the historic first steps on the moon.
