Heading into a must-win game to clinch a last spot in the quarter-finals, Tasmania pulled out a 58-39 win over Western Australia Country.
The girls secured just their second victory in five games to squeeze into fourth place in Pool B, but will meet an undefeated Victoria Country in the knockout stages.
The West Australians took the lead in the first three seconds, but their rivals regathered their composure to score 14 of the next 19 points to lead by seven at the break.
The margin was cut to five at half-time before Tasmania won both the third and last quarters by seven points.
Charli Kay starred for her state, the Marist Regional College student collecting 14 points and 12 rebounds.
Ulverstone's Zoe Banks hit a personal-best 12 points.
Chloe Kitto and Stephanie Clarke both added a further eight points each for Tassie.
The Tasmanians finished its tournament on a high.
But the nailbiting 73-64 boys victory over Western Australia Country was not enough to reach the quarters.
Tasmania trailed 34-33 at half-time before seizing control with a red-hot 23-5 third term to lead by 17 points.
But their rivals got within three points late until Tassie shot the last six points.
Luke Brown celebrated with a game-high 20 points as Ryley Haywood sunk 17.
Tasmania had lost earlier in the day 67-48 to ACT.
