The council unanimously approved a change of use for the property at 20 Pioneer Drive, with the aim of converting two front bedrooms of the property into a 19-seat cafe.
Outdoor seating would also be provided at the front of the dwelling.
Councillors wished the owner success, noting the difficulty of starting a new business. "[I] wish them all the best," said deputy mayor Michael Kelly.

Information provided with the development application stated the cafe would have one staff member and open Wednesday to Sunday.
A sample menu contained items such as filled croissants and baguettes, gourmet pies, soups, platters, cakes and biscuits.
Two representations received raised concerns over parking, traffic hazards and a loss of amenity in the street.
