Ethan Daniel Baker, 26, changed more than 30 not guilty pleas to guilty when he appeared in the Launceston Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
During the reading of the facts it was revealed Baker was the driver of the Mazda hatchback that crashed on a straight road about 4.40am on December 20.
Police found a loaded 12-gauge shortened shotgun, ice, marijuana, two glass pipes and ammunition in the car.

The Longford man was successful in his application to be assessed for a court mandated diversion program.
As well as changing his plea to a number of firearm, drug and driving offences, Baker also pleaded guilty to assaulting his ex-partner on the driveway of her mother's Longford house in March.
He drove unlicenced to the house where he'd previously lived, beeped the horn and texted the woman to come out the front.
She eventually came out to speak to him, but Baker demanded she get in the car and the woman refused.
As she walked away from him toward her front door, Baker grabbed and pulled the woman's right arm and the back of her neck, causing her to fall and graze her left ribs.
The victim called out to her mother, freed herself from her jumper, retreated inside and locked the front door.
About a week after the assault, Baker used a key to enter an Invermay business he once worked at and that was owned by his relative.
He took car keys from the office, used cars parked at the business for a number of hours and stole a Mitsubishi truck before he left.
Baker was remanded to reappear on July 30.
