The Robert Fergusson Family Foundation has continued its historic support of The Examiner's Winter Relief Appeal, donating $8000 to the 2019 appeal.
Those involved in the foundation have been contributing to the appeal for about 30 years.
Co-director of the Robert Fergusson Foundation Margot Smart said the appeal was always something the foundation contributed to.
"The Winter Relief and the Empty Stocking appeals, they're integral to Launceston," Mrs Smart said.
"The funds come from Launceston and they're spread throughout Launceston through the four organisations.
"We think we should do something locally to help local people and that's what we do and that's what it's about."
Fellow co-director Mary Fergusson said that winter especially is a difficult time for some people in Launceston.
"We've had some very cold and wet days, it's important to contribute to those who are finding it hard to probably pay electricity bills so we like to donate to the organisations through the Winter Relief Appeal," Mrs Fergusson said.
