Claiming his maiden WTS win in Leeds last month, as well as a top-ten finish in Montreal last weekend, the former Riverside High student is looking to continue that prominent form in both individual and team competition as the mixed team relay heats up on Sunday with the world championships on the line.

Ranked the number one side heading into Sunday's championships, the Australians will look to go one better than their 2018 performance at the event in which France pipped them at the post.
With experienced mixed relay competitors and Birtwhistle's Commonwealth Games winning teammates Ashleigh Gentle and Matt Hauser missing, the Tasmanian is one of many others up for selection to carry the load for Australia.
On an individual basis, all competitors will be out to gain Olympic qualification points that are still up to grabs, with Australia looking to secure the maximum number of berths available.
