Chip in for Winter Relief
Mark July 17 in your calendars. That's when we'll be celebrating the 50th anniversary of the moon landing with a double-movie night at the Star Theatre - and the best part is, $5 from every $30 ticket sold will go to The Examiner's Winter Relief Appeal. With a goal of $75,000 this year, every dollar raised will go to St Vincent de Paul, the Benevolent Society, Red Cross and City Mission. The movie night will screen Apollo 11, a documentary taking viewers to the heart of NASA's moon-landing mission, and larrikin Aussie comedy the Dish, a true story about the satellite dish smack dab in the middle of an Australian sheep farm that was crucial to the moon landing's success.
