Written by Launceston playwright Cameron Hindrum, 101 tells of the challenges Orwell endured during his writing of the timeless 1984.
Director Robert Jarman said that the play is for people who like literature, but it also is very much a play about a father and his son and the difficulties of being a parent when your work just keeps pressing in on you.
In other news:
"It's got terrific language - playwright Cameron Hindrum has a beautiful way with words, and he conjures up great images and ideas," Jarman said.
Hindrum worked on 101 for two years, he hoped that people are reminded of the intentions and implications Orwell's fiction had.
101 will be performed at the Earl Arts Centre from July 18 - July 25, tickets can be purchased from bluecowtheatre.com.
