Tasmania Police has reported that a Canberra family has been located and rescued at the Cradle Cirque.

Tasmania Police Search and Rescue were notified by the Australian Maritime Safety Authority of a personal locator beacon activation at about 1.30pm.
A Westpac Rescue Helicopter and search and rescue members were deployed to search for those who activated the beacon.
A family group consisting of a mother, daughter and son from Canberra were located at an emergency shelter on the Cradle Cirque.
According to police, the family had encountered extreme weather conditions that resulted in minor injuries, resulting in the PLB activation.
