While Australia continues to top World Cup standings in England, Richardson hit a defiant 100 not out from 159 balls coming in the final over of his third over-60s match.
The patient knock rescued Australia from 4-41 before reaching 6-189 off 50 overs on a seaming Kidderminster wicket in Worcestershire.
But the 61-year-old doctor from Launceston could not prevent England from stealing a four-wicket win in the final over as Australia blundered a run out chance and a dropped catch that went for four off the third-last ball.
The Trevallyn A-Reserve opener, who joined the TCL club from South Launceston in 2006, has been in solid touch in the internationals.
Richardson earlier scored 32 against Pakistan and 17 in the opening England game.
He is yet to be dismissed in tour matches, retiring against Middlesex for 22, Essex for 32 and Leicestershire for 37.
