Quad bike and tractor owners can increase their knowledge with safety sessions scheduled to coincide with the introduction of the Tasmanian Quad Bike Safety Rebate Scheme on July 1.

The sessions are a joint initiative between Safe Farming Tasmania, Tasmanian Farmers and Graziers Association, WorkSafe Tasmania, Safe Farming Tasmania Health & Safety senior consultant Phillip John said.
"[They are] aimed at farmers and their workers, and anyone else who operates a quad bike or tractor," Mr John said.

Speakers include SafeWork NSW, Rural Alive and Well (RAW), TasTAFE teachers, crush protection device manufacturers and The Drug Education Network.
Sessions will run at Campbell Town, Smithton and Scottsdale during July.
The Quad Bike Safety Rebate Scheme, which opened on Monday, was established to reduce quad bike injuries and deaths.
Under the scheme, eligible farm workplaces can receive a rebate on the purchase price of an approved operator/rollover/crush protection device.
