There are three people running for George Town mayor: councillors Chris Barraclough and Greg Kieser as well as acting mayor Tim Harris.
There are 11 candidates running for the position of George Town councillor.

The byelection was called by the Tasmanian Electoral Commission after former mayor Bridget Archer was named Federal Member for Bass.
Postal ballots will be delivered to municipality residents between July 2 and July 5.
