NSW Labor leadership candidate Chris Minns has written to the NSW Electoral Commission for advice on a 2014 donation after a report it came from a property developer.

The Sydney Morning Herald on Thursday reported Mr Minns received a $1200 donation from property developer Bechara Khouri when he was running for the seat of Kogarah, despite a ban on property developers making donations in NSW.
Mr Minns on Thursday night said he had written to the electoral authority to determine the status of the donation based on the SMH's reporting.
He said he didn't know if Mr Khouri was a property developer or if the donation was not allowed.
"I declared it and made it publicly available and it has been publicly available for five years," Mr Minns told AAP.
He said in an earlier statement that the donation and all others accepted by his campaign "were done in good faith at the time as being from authorised donors".
Mr Minns is running for the NSW Labor leadership against Strathfield MP Jodi McKay, with the winner to be revealed after Labor MPs vote on Saturday.
More than 11,000 rank-and-file members have already submitted their votes.
