Like many milestone players before them, both Brenton Cook and Tim Faul cite the people around St Pats Football Club as the reason they've stuck around at the ground hidden behind the Catholic school.
While premiership success has eluded Faul in the seniors, Cook has picked up four flags in the last five seasons with the club's reserves stocks dominating the competition in recent times, a highlight of his career.
"The three premierships in a row - '14,'15,'16 [were a real highlight]," Cook said.
"Just playing and making a lot of great mates up here."
Following an former work colleague to the club in 2005, Cook has played 154 seniors games including seven preliminary and elimination finals and 96 reserves outings for the Saints.
"An old work mate dragged me up here and said 'it was a good club' and I've never left really.
"He was right on the money. It's just a good club and you'll never leave."
Vice captain of the seniors side for seven years, Faul will celebrate his milestone in the successful second-placed side who are looking to right the wrongs of last season's dramatic finals exit.
Debuting in 2004, Faul has played the third most seniors games at the club with 239, including eight this season and has taken out the club's most improved and best utility on two occasions throughout his career.
"The people [have kept me around]. We've been quite successful on the reserves front, not so much the seniors but good people at the club always keeps you at a footy club," Faul said.
"We've had some big Sunday sessions, mad Mondays and functions are always big but just playing footy with mates and mates who become best mates, that'd be my highlight."
