The 56-year-old survived a crash in which he lost control of his Mitsubishi van about 7am Tuesday, but was killed when a Mazda utility lost control and collided with the van a short time later.
Police say both vehicles likely lost control on the same patch of black ice.
"Initial investigations indicate the driver of the Mistubishi van lost control of his vehicle on a corner before rolling and coming to rest on the side of the road," a police spokesperson said.
"The driver and sole occupant of the van survived that crash and removed himself from the vehicle.

"A short time later, a silver Mazda utility being driven by a 19 year old man from Youngtown lost control on the same corner and rolled several times before crashing into the first vehicle.
"Police believe the driver of the van was impacted by the second crash, and he died at the scene shortly after."
The 19-year-old driver of the Mazda and his passenger were uninjured but were both taken to hospital as a precaution.
Police have urged drivers to be wary of icy conditions throughout winter, particularly on shaded rural roads.
The road is likely to remain closed in both directions until 12.30pm.
