Tasmanian Daniel Watkins was among four Australians eliminated at the semi-final stage at the second canoe world cup in Slovakia.

The 23-year-old Derwent Canoe Club member was joined by Jessica Fox, Lucien Delfour and Tim Anderson in falling at the final hurdle as the difficult Bratislava course again took its toll.
Fresh from a career-best 11th place in the men's C1, Watkins doubled-up in the K1. He missed one gate and Delfour missed four to finish 28th and 39th respectively.
"It was a pretty good run really, I was pretty happy with everything except two gates in the middle," Watkins said.
"I felt like I'd put myself in a really good position to make the final, but just came unstuck in the middle. There was some good stuff today."
The team is vowing to bounce back at the third world cup in the Slovenian town of Tacen next weekend.
Further world cup events follow in Markkleeberg, Germany, from August 30 with the World Cup final in the Czech capital Praguefrom September 6-8.
The International Canoe Federation's slalom world championships will be in La Seu, Spain, from September 25-29 with the 2020 Olympic test event in Tokyo from October 25-27.
