That's the hope of Drysdale cookery teacher Will Wilson, who will be conducting a demonstration as part of TasTAFE's info week, which runs from June 24-28.
Mr Wilson said he wanted people to have a hands-on experience because it was the best way for them to understand what TasTAFE and Drysdale are all about.
"We want them to be job-ready, so we want the full experience; people don't get the full experience if they come along and sit around in a room," Mr Wilson said.
Drysdale's demonstration will show those interested some knife-skills and plating techniques.
Information sessions in the North are being held for 22 course areas such as agriculture, science, automotive, engineering, business, community services and the creative industries.
Drysdale North Education Manager, David Dunn said Tasmania's tourism and hospitality sectors were booming and now is a good time to look into career in those industries.
"Whether people choose to work in your local hospitality industry or to travel abroad, qualified hospitality workers are in high demand," Mr Dunn said.
"The info week session will give people the chance to come along and chat to Drysdale cookery teachers, check out the Drysdale North kitchens and restaurant area and find out more about where tourism and hospitality training can take them."
