Chasing Northamptonshire's 9-262, Wade helped the visitors to a six-wicket win in 36 overs with a 67-ball knock of 117 that featured 18 fours and three maximums.

Having finished second top-scorer in the most recent Sheffield Shield and Big Bash seasons, Wade's innings proved he had lost none of his form during the off-season.

"I was happy with it," Wade said after the game.

"I hadn't played for a while and I wasn't 100 per cent sure how I was going to strike the ball [being a] late arrival but it was nice to get out there and score some runs. I struck it as clean as I have for a while."

Wade said he had not been distracted by talk about whether he would break back into international cricket.

"I've worked really closely with Jeffy Vaughan just staying true to the way that I want to play and not letting things that may come in the future or the game after this or anything like that get into my head.

"I just want to come out here and play the way that I want to play and I know that if I do that my game is good enough to succeed in any format or competition."

Australia A will meet Derbyshire in another one-dayer on Sunday before a further three one-day and four-day matches.

The tour concludes with a clash against Australia's senior side in Southampton on July 26.
