Ex-Melbourne campaigner Colin Garland will sit out the contest at North Hobart Oval, robbing the Demons of their biggest weapon.
The 31-year-old, who had played 141 AFL games, is sidelined with a hamstring.
He is one of five changes for coach Richard Robinson.
Garland, who proved to be a soldier down back for Melbourne, slammed on an amazing eight goals up forward against North Launceston in the earlier encounter of the year at UTAS Stadium.
The Demons had almost pulled off the boilover of the TSL season against the reigning premiers, falling in that game by just 11 points.
Garland's seventh goal in the last term early last month gave the perennial battlers the lead before the Bombers steadied to kick the final two.
Since then, the formlines of the two sides have been polar opposites.
North Launceston playing coach Taylor Whitford said changing the mindset just a week on from his side's massive derby win would be somewhat of a challenge.
The Bombers came out all guns blazing to defeat Launceston by 69 points.
"It's going to be a different mentality to last Friday," Whitford said.
"We've got to go in with the mindset of continually improving and continue to improve within our group.
"We understand it's going to take time with these guys."
The Bombers will lose two of its brightest young stars for Saturday's first trip down south in 28 days.
Jackson Callow and Ben Simpson have been recalled back to the Tasmania Devils after the under-18s NAB League side returns to competition from a week's break.
"It's unfortunate for them, but it's not really unfortunate because they get to play Devils' footy," Whitford said.
"But for us it ensures some more changes. It's okay because it gives a new opportunity to a couple of players.
"We'll get to have another debutant this week."
Kurt Hibbs only arrived at the TSL club from South Launceston in the offseason.
The teen is yet to get a taste of senior football after having last played at Youngtown for the club's NTFA under-18s.
"It's good in a sense that we get to have a look at these guys playing senior footy now and whether they will be required in the back end of the year," Whitford said.
"It gives us a good opportunity to play them, but it's not good for consistency and continuity for the group.
"The good probably outweighs the bad, with giving a young fella an opportunity to play senior footy."
Jack Lanham and Karlton Wadley return to the line-up.
Connor Pearton makes way amid the three changes.
Jack Rushton was named and will be given every chance to play after twisting an ankle against the Blues.
