This is the message Joanne Beswick, one of the organisers behind a Launceston winter solstice event, is hoping to share - and encourage others to take up by descending on the city centre with costumes and craft.
Ms Beswick arranged a similar event at Trevallyn Primary School to mark the date last year, this year reaching out to Cityprom to take the idea to another level.
Saturday will see a lantern parade from Town Hall to Brisbane Street Mall, where visitors will find live music, fire twirlers, and late-night trading. A number of city buildings, including the mall, will also be lit in red.

"It's about the earth, the sun, the moon," Ms Beswick said. "It's a key turning point ... the promise [of spring] is coming."
Cityprom event coordinator Kristy Parker said the idea paired well with their Winterlicious program, running from June to August, as a way to entice people into the city during the colder, shorter, winter days.
Live music, drummers and fire twirlers will take to Brisbane Street Mall from 4pm.
The lantern walk will commence from Town Hall to the mall from 5.30pm, followed by a performance from Kim Roe School of Dance students.
