Jurors, Justice Robert Pearce and court staff spent about an hour viewing the Parklands Parade unit on Thursday morning before returning to the Launceston court.

Mark Rodney Jones, of West Launceston, has pleaded not guilty to murdering Mr Breward.

Cody James Lee gave evidence on the fourth day of the Launceston Supreme Court trial.

Mr Breward died after allegedly being suffocated by Mr Jones in the lounge room of Mr Lee's Newnham unit.

Mr Lee saw his friend be punched, kicked, waterboarded and have a plastic bag wrapped around his head, the court heard.

Mr Jones and his employee Ricky Izard had been looking for Mr Breward in relation to a stolen car, the court heard.

Mr Breward allegedly said "you're killing me" to Mr Jones and he replied "we're not goina kill ya".

But Mr Lee said the plastic bag was again placed over his friend's head.

"He was choking and then he stopped choking, and that's when Mark took the bag off his head," Mr Lee said.

The court heard Mr Jones checked to see if Mr Breward was breathing and then started to give him CPR.

"When he [Mr Jones] pushed on his [Mr Breward's] chest juice came out of Brad's mouth," Mr Lee said.

It was alleged weights were tied to Mr Breward's body and he was dumped at Lake Eugenana, about 10 kilometres south-west of Devonport.
