The Winter Relief Fundraising Concert will be hosted by the Choir of High Hopes, and will raise funds for The Examiner's annual appeal.

The concert will also feature performances from the Launceston Male Choir the Tamar Valley Singers

The concert will be opened by City Mission chief executive Stephen Brown.

"The choir is one of the programs we provide that supports people in our community who have faced or are facing challenges such as homelessness, disability, mental health issues, social isolation or are simply wanting to build their self-confidence," Mr Brown said.

Choir coordinator Merelyn Britton said the choir wanted to put on the concert as the four charities the Winter Relief funds go toward help those in need.

She said all choirs participating were contributing their time for free.

"No one gets paid for this, so it all goes into Winter Relief," she said.

The Winter Relief Appeal raises funds for the Launceston City Mission, St Vincent de Paul Society, Salvation Army, and Benevolent Society.
